Brief

As part of a refurbishment, New Zealand pharmaceuticals required fire rated doors that complied to the NZ standards (NZS4520:2010). The doors needed to be free from organic materials like timber or laminate for hygiene purposes due to the pharmaceutical grade project.

RMIT University, Australia

Brief

RMIT, in Australia were renovating their PC2 laboratories in the university, requiring a hygienic door solution that is waterproof, hygienic and corrosion resistant against the cleaning regimes used in the facility. The laboratory had clean and dirty zones where trolled access was required through doorways for cleaning equipment. 

Solution

Dortek supplied hygienic GRP doors and frames which offer water and chemical resistance. The doors were fitted with large vision panels and automations enabling easy trolley and personnel traffic between the laboratories. 

Mercy Hospital, New Zealand

Brief

The project architects needed operating theatre doors which meet fire certification requirements and high hygiene standards.

Solution

Mercy hospital required fire rated sliding doors to meet NZ fire certification codes but also to meet high hygiene standards required in the operating theatres. Dortek manufactured and supplied hygienic GRP doors which met NZ fire certification standards. The doors were also supplied with automations and safety sensors. Sliding doors were chosen to maximise opening space and access for hospital beds and equipment. 

Alexion, Ireland

Brief

Alexion needed door solutions for an expansion at its biologics manufacturing site in Athlone.

Solution

Dortek supplied hygienic glass sliding doors across the buildings laboratories. The flush glass panels and aluminium frames are easy to clean and provide maximum visibility and light to interior rooms. Doors were supplied with a motion sensor pad for hands free operation. Touchless sensors are ideal to maintain infection control and for personnel carrying objects or pushing carts. 

Colourcon, UK

Brief

As part of a refurbishment to modernise its UK headquarters, Colourcon required new ultra efficient door systems.

Solution

Dortek supplied hermetically sealing sliding glass doors across the buildings laboratories. The high performance doors were specified to optimise energy consumption and whole life cycle costs. The door has a unique hermetically sealing gasket system which gives them a 99% air tight seal to reduce air handling costs. The flush glass blades also maximise visibility and automations enable easy access. 

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Ireland

Brief

Jazz pharmaceuticals needed door solutions for its new manufacturing and development facility.

Solution

Dortek supplied hygienic glass sliding doors across the buildings manufacturing and laboratory spaces. The flush glass panels are easy to clean and provide full visibility of interior rooms. The glass sliding doors were automated with touchless sensors for speed and efficiency when entering or exiting clean areas. 

Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge UK

Brief

The hospital required hygienic door systems for two new theatres which will help improve hospital efficiency, patient recovery time and length of stay.

Solution

Dortek supplied and installed over 15 specialist OT doors, both non fire and fire rated. The hybrid theatre doors were provided with lead lining and x-ray rated privacy vision panels. Our hospital doors have a timber free, seamless gelcoat surface which prevents them from harbouring bacteria and makes them easy to clean for flawless hygiene and infection control.

Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Sydney

Brief

As part of a refurbishment the hospital required hygienic doors to replace its existing operating theatre doors. 

Solution

Dortek supplied our ultra clean GRP doors across clinical areas. Our hospital doors are specially suited to the cleaning regimes needed to prevent the spread of infection. The smooth and seamless construction of our doors means that bacteria cannot build up on ledges or voids.  

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool

Brief

The hospital required new operating theatre doors as part of a major refurbishment. The upgrade was an essential part of the trusts strategy to drive infection control and operating efficiency across its theatres. Dortek were asked to replace existing timber doors with a more hygienic, functional alterative to meet these goals.

Solution

Dortek supplied and installed specialist hermetic sliding doors with automations for easy access. These doors have a unique hermetically sealing gasket system which gives them a 99% air tight seal. After installing the doors the hospital were able to reduce the volume of clean air fed into the theatres by over 20%. The air which has to be regulated and controlled for particulates, humidity, and temperature, is a considerable expense per cubic metre, so the long term cost saved from this was significant. 

Spire, Manchester

Brief

As part of an ongoing relationship with Spire Healthcare, Dortek were chosen to provide hygienic GRP doors for a refurbishment and full upgrade to their operating theatres.

Solution

Dortek supplied and installed ultra clean GRP hinged doors and hermetic bi-parting sliding doors across staff changing areas, treatment rooms and operating theatres. The doors were essential to maintaining infection control and minimising energy consumption throughout theatres which have a laminar air flow system.
