The Royal United Hospital is a specialist hospital for Rheumatic Disease and Rehabilitation. The trust is building a new Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and Therapies Centre. The new building will predominantly be an outpatient centre, providing treatment, care and education for patients to recover from episodes of illness or injury, or to manage their long-term condition.
Brief
The hospital required door systems for the hydrotherapy pool and surrounding treatment areas. The doors needed to be hygienic, waterproof and durable.
Solution
Dortek supplied hygienic hinged doors with automations and observation windows. Some of the GRP frames were made to specialist requirements to accommodate hoist rails around the hydrotherapy pool. All door handles, push plates and kick plates were supplied in plastic for cleanability and to prevent corrosion from moisture. Dortek hygienic doors have a completely seamless GRP construction which makes them extremely lightweight, strong, water resistant and easy to keep clean.
