The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital is an upcoming 700-bed hospital located in the Western part of Singapore. The NGFGH is the first ‘hospital within a city’ designed in Singapore. Pairing NGFGH with Jurong Community Hospital is key to the governments strategy of maintaining simple, affordable healthcare as the population ages.
Brief
The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital required hygienic door systems for clinical areas. The project is two hospitals by virtue of the program split between a government-subsidized section and a private section.
Solution
Dortek supplied and installed over 100 specialist hygienic lead-lined doors, many of which were automated. Dortek’s Bi-parting lead-lined doors were supplied with large vision panels. Vision panels were used to enhance the healing environment by promoting natural daylight for patients. Wide lead-lined hinged doors (1425mm) were specified to give clear traffic access throughout clinical areas.
