The Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing
Located in Spring House Innovation Park in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, the institute features programs to annually educate and train up to 2,500 people, including biopharmaceutical professionals and bioprocessing engineering students, on how to produce potentially life-saving biotherapeutic drugs.
Brief
Dortek has completed two projects at The Jefferson Institute. Dortek supplied our specialist cleanroom swing door systems to the facility when it first opened in 2019 and we supplied doors again in 2023, as part of an expansion. The Institute received a $2 million grant to add nearly 40,000 square feet of additional academic and training space.
Solution
The institute is designed to simulate a GMP manufacturing plant where biologics are made so it was crucial the doors met GMP standards. Dortek supplied cleanroom swing doors in Stainless Steel frames, cleanroom windows and pass-through hatches. Dortek fibreglass doors are ultra-clean, non-porous and do not harbour bacteria, making them ideal for biopharmaceutical facilities.
Testimonial – Laboratory designer. ‘Thank you and the Dortek team for continued world class service. As mentioned before the product is always great, but the service your team provides is even greater! The doors turned out very well for this project, and the owner is impressed with them as well.’
