Cardiff is at the forefront of imaging technology with the development of the Wales research and diagnostic positron emission tomography (PET) imaging centre.
Brief
The hospital required hygienic door systems with lead protection to be able to withstand a field of radiation.
Solution
Dortek supplied GRP hygienic doors and bespoke 6mm lead lined doors for X-ray rooms. The lead is encapsulated within the door and frame during the moulding process leaving it completely seamless. Vision panels were also fitted throughout and x-ray shielding glass was used to ensure thorough protection whilst being able to observe.
