The $188 million, 144,780 square-feet, five-story research building serves as the university’s knowledge center for the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering. The neuroscience institute will investigate the challenges in understanding how the brain works, focusing on the discovery, treatment, and development of the brain.
Brief
The facility required hygienic door systems for its “research neighborhoods” which foster cross-disciplinary collaboration by providing wet, dry, and computational research labs. The facilities include a vivarium with animal holding areas, procedure rooms and a teaching lab.
Solution
Dortek supplied over 60 hygienic molded FRP door sets for this project. Dortek fibergalss doors are ideal for research and vivarium environments due to their non-porous smooth hygienic construction. The doors do not collect dirt and are easy to clean. The doors also withstand moisture for a prolonged period of time and are not adversely affected by daily washing and disinfection.
