Dortek Is BIM Ready
Dortek has launched new BIM Revit families for our hygienic doors and windows. Our new BIM objects have been designed to support the industry’s transition to digital building modelling.
BIM brings together all of the information about every component of a building, in one place. It makes it possible for anyone to access that information for any purpose and to integrate different aspects of the design more effectively.
BIM data can be used to illustrate the entire building life-cycle, from the design stage, during the construction phase and throughout its working life. Spaces, systems, products and sequences can be shown in relative scale to each other and, in turn, relative to the entire project. And by signalling conflict detection BIM prevents errors creeping in at the various stages of construction.
Dorteks range of BIM files will be hosted here on Bimstore.co.uk, enabling customers to search, find and download components easily. They will also be available under each individual product section on the Dortek website and in the architects download area – https://dortek.com/architects/download-area/bim-objects/
Sheree Moore, Dorteks Marketing Co-ordinator, says:
“As a market leader in hygienic door systems, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to provide our customers with easy access to accurate product information. We believe that Building Information Modelling will play a large part in the future of the construction industry. We want to be one of the first to ensure our customers can capitalise on the many benefits it offers such as reduced cost, less risk of mistakes and better collaborative working. We are dedicated to supporting the industry drive towards BIM adoption and ensuring that those who specify, use and distribute our products, are well positioned to secure Government contracts which will be BIM compliant from 2016”.
