AstraZeneca’s pharmaceutical plant in Snackviken, Södartälje, Sweden was formed during the merger of Astra and Zeneca in 1999. Södartälje is now the research and development (R&D) headquarters of AstraZeneca and employs more than 8,000 people. With around 1,600 employees, the site undertakes research focused on neuroscience.
AstraZeneca required door solutions for their latest project - AstraZeneca will spend $285m on a new biologics manufacturing facility in Södertälje, Sweden that it plans to have fully up and running by 2019.
The plant will focus on the filling and packaging of protein therapeutics and, from 2018, supplying medicines for the clinical trial programmes of AZ and its MedImmune subsidiary.
Dortek Interdoor supplied this project with 12 single hinged doors and 10 double hinged doors as well as 3 single doors. The doors were Hygienic type V doors with Stainless Steel frames for hygienic walls. Dortek have been working and supplying doors on the AstraZeneca site for many years, recently with their latest project as a laboratory project.
