Dortek have recently installed ultra hygienic doors at an exciting new world class veterinary hospital in Surrey. The £40 million hospital, specialising in oncology treatments, is for specialist veterinary referral practice Fitzpatrick Referrals, which features in The Supervet series on Channel 4.

The school will be located at the heart of the University of Surrey’s manor park site in Guildford. It is one of only eight centres in the country and will give veterinary student’s hands-on experience with animal health and links to veterinary practices in the area.

The school will comprise three buildings including a main academic centre with offices, teaching spaces, lecture theatres and research laboratories, a veterinary pathology building and a clinical skills centre with an animal examination area and animal simulators.

The school will also benefit human health as it will work closely with the charity that Mr. Fitzpatrick has founded called The Humanimal Trust. The charity aims to progress both human and animal health care simultaneously, sharing knowledge and resources and promoting the concept of One Medicine. To help raise funds and awareness of the charity a member of the Dortek team will be taking a leap of faith and doing a skydive from 12,000 ft in September.

Dortek manufactured specialist hygienic hinged doors with stainless steel frames for the facility. Fire rated and lead lined doors were also supplied across clinical areas and x-ray rooms. Our seamless doors are completely void free, easy to clean and do not harbour bacteria making them ideal for veterinary research facilities. The buildings are due for completion in autumn this year.
