Hovione, Portugal

The company has expanded its continuous tableting capacity with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at its site in Loures, Portugal. The company invested $70m to develop the facility, which is part of its broader $170m investment programme to increase its production capacity by around 25% by 2023.

Solution

The client had a problem with air pressures in their ATEX rated zone of the pharmaceutical cleanroom where the existing doors were warping and had excessive air leakage with the air pressure differentials. Dortek supplied 2 unequal pair of doors with stainless steel frame system fitting flush into 60mm panel wall into a PAL air lock. The client had more than 30 pascal pressure pushing the door open, and with no electrical locking allowed, we were able to find a solution for them to ensure the doors closed against the pressure and reduced excessive air loss.

Our seamless doors are ultra hygienic, void free and easy to clean which makes them ideally suited to cleanroom areas.
